Emily C. Specchio Foundation

The Emily C. Specchio Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to support scholarships, fellowships, and mentoring for youth who want to change the world for the better. The foundation is named after Emily C. Specchio who inter-related the ideas of academic excellence with social responsibility.

Emily was a 2006 Marketing Graduate in the Pamplin College of Business, incoming graduate student in Marketing, and a brother of the Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity. Emily loved Virginia Tech and was passionate about the virtues of Scholarship, Leadership and Fellowship. Through her commitment to community service and academic achievement, Emily embodied the spirit of both her fraternity and her alma mater.

 

 

Emily Carrigg Specchio Memorial Scholarship

Endowed in 2006 at Virginia Tech, the Emily Carrigg Specchio Memorial Scholarship provides an annual scholarship for outstanding marketing major(s) or brother(s) of the Phi Sigma Pi Honors Fraternity at Virginia Tech. The Donors wish to create this fund in memory of Emily C. Specchio, their cherished daughter and sister.

The scholarship will be awarded once a year. Recipients shall be, at the time of the receipt of the scholarship funds, in order of priority:

  • A marketing major with academic excellence with a record of community service.
  • A member of the Phi Sigma Pi Honors fraternity
  • Preference given to students who are a candidate for the semester study abroad program in Lugano, Switzerland

 

 

 

‘A Night with an Angel’ Event / NJ Hokies VT Alumni Gala

Each year NJ Hokies teams up with the Emily C. Specchio Foundation to support their annual “A Night with an Angel” event. The event includes a silent auction dinner to raise funds for scholarships in honor of Emily, a 2006 graduate of Virginia Tech. One scholarship is a VT NJ Alumni Chapter Scholarship, given to a high school senior accepted into Virginia Tech.
