Mark H. Maloney


Mark graduated from Virginia Tech in 1982 from having majored in Hotel Restaurant and Institutional Management (currently Hospitality and Tourism Management) in the Pamplin College of Business. He went on to earn his MBA concentrating in Finance from Seton Hall University and was bestowed an honorary doctorate degree from the Global University for Lifelong Learning.


At Tech, Mark was the founder of Eta Sigma Delta, the International Hospitality Management Honor Society. He was actively involved in numerous activities with both the department and the college.

Professionally, Mark is the President of the Eastern Division for Eurest, a leader in the contract food service industry. He resides in East Hanover, NJ with his wife Stephanie and is a proud father of three children.




Bruce Ciccone

Habitat/VT Connect Director

Bruce married into a family of Hokies. His wife, Liz, graduated from the Pamplin School of Business in 1979. Her four other siblings also graduated from Tech. Their son, Jonathan, graduated from the Pamplin School of Business in 2014. Daughter, Christina, is currently studying abroad in Italy. Bruce serves on the Board of Directors of Paterson Habitat for Humanity, organizing Virginia Tech Habitat for Humanity builds. He’s President of Prodigy Group International, a provider of merchandising displays and fixtures.








David Avery


David graduated in 2005 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering.  At Tech, David was President of the Virginia Tech Chapter of American Society of Civil Engineers, a Member of Chi Epsilon and Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Societies, and served in the Student Government Association in various capacities. David lives in Pennington with his wife Celeste and their pets:  Molly, their labradoodle and Lady, their tabby cat. When not cheering for Tech’s football and basketball teams, David can be found working for Mack-Cali Realty Corporation as a Project Manager.











John J. Specchio, Ph.D.

Emily C. Specchio Foundation

Dr. John J. Specchio is a Full Professor of Food Science at Montclair State University (MSU) in Montclair, N.J. He is a Certified Food Scientist (CFS) from the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT). He had held leadership positions with the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), and the International Association of Analytical Chemists (AOAC). From 1988-2013, Dr. Specchio was appointed as Senior Research Science Advisor to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In 1995 and 2004, Dr. Specchio was awarded the FDA Commissioner’s Special Citation Award, and in 1997, was awarded a US Vice-Presidential “Service Award” for his role in a team effort in streamlining and increasing output of FDA/ORA field research.

Dr. Specchio holds “Honor Professor” status at two prestigious Chinese Universities, Jiangnan  University (formally Wuxi University of Light Industry) and Tianjin University of Commerce. He is currently President and owner of Regtech Enterprises, LLC, an international food science consulting company. He specializes in US and international regulatory food safety issues in China, Singapore, Italy, Portugal and Brazil.








Kevin Finn

Guest Speaker Director

Kevin graduated from Virginia Tech in 1988 with a B.S. in Business Marketing, and later earned an MBA in Marketing Management from Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) in 1993. At Tech, Kevin played on the men’s soccer team (1984-1987) and was Captain from 1986-1987. He was also an active member of the German Club, Student Alumni Associates (SAA), and was an RA. Today, Kevin lives in Basking Ridge with his wife Jeanne Finn (Class of 1989) and works as the Executive Vice President for DCC Digital Color Concepts (DCC), a commercial printing company. Kevin has three children: Patrick (VT  2017 class president, German Club Member), Brian (Class of 2020 at Notre Dame) and Kathleen (8th grade).








Mary O’Connor

Hokie BBQ Director

Mary graduated from Virginia Tech in 1987 with a BS in Finance and received her MBA in Corporate Finance in 1996 from Fairleigh Dickinson University. While at Tech, Mary was a member of the Class of 1987 Ring Committee and Vice President of the Phi Beta Phi sorority. She currently resides in Whippany, NJ with her husband and three children, one of whom is currently a sophomore at Tech. She is active in the community having served as a Girl Scout leader for over 10 years, as well as a Sunday school teacher, a volunteer girl’s lacrosse and basketball coach, and treasurer of the Whippany Park Project graduation committee. Mary is an avid runner, having completed three marathons and multiple half marathons, and is a huge Tech football fan!


Josh Wilets

Communications/IT Coordinator

Josh graduated from Virginia Tech in 2016, having earned a BS in Business, majoring in Business Infmation Technology with a focus in Operations & Supply Chain Management. While at Virginia Tech, Josh was the Social Chair (2 years) and President (1 year) of Holly House, which is part of the Residential College at West Ambler Johnston. He wrote for the sports section for the Collegiate Times and was a manager of the Marching Virginians for 2 seasons. Josh is currently a Benefits Delivery Specialist at Alight Solutions in Bridgewater, NJ and he currently resides in Randolph, NJ.



Toni-Ann Feeney

VT Gala Director

Toni-Ann graduated from Virginia Tech in 2001 with a degree in Accounting and Information Systems. During her time at Tech, she was President of the Executive Business Committee of Pamplin, held the publications chair for Delta Gamma and participated in other charity events for VT.  Toni-Ann now lives in Warren, NJ and leverages her degree as Vice President of Peloton (Financial Consulting Firm).


Trish Pescatore

Scholarship Director

Trish graduated from Virginia Tech in 1986 with a B.S. in Accounting Information Systems and holds her Senior Professional Human Resources certification. At Tech, she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority.  For the first half of her professional career, she was an Accenture systems integration consultant. She then transitioned her experience to a career in the talent management arena. Trish currently serves as a Global Talent Acquisition Director for Accenture and is responsible for driving strategic programs for recruitment identification and attraction. She actively volunteers in her community, including mentoring young women and coaching travel soccer. Trish resides in Florham Park, NJ with her husband and two children.


Alyssa Lopez

Game Watching Events Coordinator

Alyssa graduated from Virginia Tech in 2015 with a B.S. in Packaging Systems & Design and a minor in Industrial Design.  She was involved in the Student Alumni Associates and served as their Director of Marketing.  It was important that Alyssa was involved with her studies outside of the classroom so she volunteered as a student ambassador for the College of Natural Resources and Environment as well as the Department of Sustainable Biomaterials.   Currently, Alyssa is working as an cosmetic packaging engineer at L’Oreal in Clark, NJ and living in her hometown of Basking Ridge, NJ.  Her two younger siblings, Alex (2017) & Kristen (2020), are also both Hokies as well!
